I’m from Hawaii, my family was originally on da big island, long time ago. I remember places that were covered before, seeing lava shoot out of a cliff directly into the ocean is pretty cool too.

Lava behaves a little differently than you would think, I got a lot of earth science in school in Hawaii, for obvious reasons! We went to a place on a field trip and a volcanologist, he pushed on it with his shoe and it had a layer that was cooler and harder than the softer insides. Sometimes these flows keep moving and spreading out while losing energy, it might have settled all around the car while this was happening. The famous road sign sticking up didn’t break either, so at some point steel can hold up to it. Something like that, I forget most of what they taught me back then.
